Marc-Antoine Charpentier

Marc-Antoine Charpentier, a prominent French Baroque composer who lived from 1643 to 1704 during the reign of Louis XIV, was a prolific and versatile musician. While he excelled in various musical forms, his sacred vocal works were particularly celebrated. He’s perhaps best known today for the “Marche en rondeau,” the main theme from the prelude to his Te Deum H.146, which serves as the fanfare for Eurovision and European Broadcasting Union broadcasts.
