Jean-Joseph Mouret

Jean-Joseph Mouret (11 April 1682 in Avignon – 22 December 1738 in Charenton-le-Pont) was an eminent French Baroque composer. His theatrical compositions established him as a prominent figure in France’s Baroque musical scene. Despite the infrequent performance of most of his compositions today, Mouret remains well-known for the enduring success of his Fanfare-Rondeau from the first Suite de symphonies.
